John Bagley started his driving career in 1925 and was a ferocious competitor. In 1929, Bagley started hiring others to drive for him and won the AAA Eastern Circuit title with Doc McKenzie in 1935, and again in 1937 with Frankie Beeder at the wheel. Bagley was inducted into the Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 2004.
