Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame unveils illustrious class of 2026

LINCOLN, NE – April 26, 2026 – The Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame has officially revealed the six outstanding individuals selected for induction into the prestigious Class of 2026. This year's group represents decades of dedication, skill, and passion across various disciplines of Nebraska's rich motorsports history.

The distinguished 2026 induction class includes:

Mike Boston (Lincoln): From Track Champion to Industry Leader With 50+ years on the dirt, Mike Boston is a legendary driver and premier fabricator. Following a dominant career in motocross and sprint cars (77+ wins, 7 championships), Boston now owns and operates Eagle Motorsports LLC, continuing his legacy as a national advocate for the sport.

Denny Egge (Kearney): Kearney’s "Racer’s Racer" A cornerstone of Central Nebraska racing for over 40 years, Denny Egge is a legendary driver and master engine builder. From the 1970s through 2014, Egge dominated the dirt tracks racing classes —including Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Stockcars, Sportmods and the Sportsman and Street Stock Divisions. Operating from his famed "Avenue H" garage, he became a vital mentor, building the horsepower that launched countless local careers.

George Medbery (Grand Island): The Master Architect of High-Plains Horsepower George Medbery’s impact spans five decades as a designer, builder, and champion crew chief. As the mechanical mind behind Clayton Petersen Racing Products, Medbery oversaw the construction of over 200 chassis—including the iconic Echo, Superfly, and Outlaw designs—that dominated tracks across 14 states and reached the podium at Daytona International Speedway.

Allen Langdale (Beatrice): The Architect of Beatrice Speedway Allen Langdale’s 30-year career transformed Nebraska dirt track racing into a national-caliber operation. From fielding championship-winning cars for legends like Rex Nunn to his tenure as IMCA Central Region Director, Langdale dedicated his life to professionalizing the sport’s infrastructure and safety standards.

Tony Glenn (Hastings): The Voice and Vision of Nebraska Racing Tony Glenn’s 50-year journey saw him transition from a dedicated driver to one of the most influential builders of the sport’s regional infrastructure. From racing at Hastings Raceway to North Platte along with co-founding the Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame, Glenn has dedicated his life to honoring the competitors and crews who define the racing community.

John Hladky (Scribner): The Farmer with a Need for Speed A legendary figure in the NHRA Stock Eliminator ranks, John Hladky proved Nebraska grit could conquer the biggest stages in drag racing. A farmer who traded irrigation motors for high-performance engines, Hladky became a multi-time class winner at the prestigious U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Gary M. Dominguez (Lincoln): The Goodwill Ambassador of Nebraska Racing With a career spanning 48 years, Gary Dominguez has been a tireless advocate for regional motorsports. From founding fan-engagement traditions like "Autograph Day" to serving as the premier pace-car driver for the Midwest's largest touring series, his selfless commitment has defined the "behind-the-scenes" success of the sport.

EVENT DETAILS The Class of 2026 will be formally enshrined on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the Courtside Banquet Hall in Lincoln, Nebraska.

"Each year, the induction ceremony brings the regional racing community together to celebrate the incredible icons who shaped our local tracks," said a representative from the Hall of Fame. "The Class of 2026 is an exceptional group that demonstrates the immense talent and sportsmanship born right here in Nebraska."

The organization's physical display room is proudly housed within the Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, Nebraska.
